Ogbaru TC applauds Nwaebili for humanitarian gesture

Iyiowa Odekpe (Ogbaru LGA), June 23, 2020 (MOI) No fewer than 32 persons benefited from a medical outreach carried out by the Nonso Nwaebili Foundation (NNF) at Iyioya, Odekpe, Ogbaru Local Government Area. Founder of NNF, Mr Nonso Nwaebili, is currently a Special Assistant to the Governor at Anambra Liaison office, Abuja. The outreach offered free medical care to people with different health challenges. A medical team, comprising three medical doctors, five nurses and four other health assistants came from Abuja.

The patients underwent instant medical tests and those that were sick were given drugs. The common ailment among the patients that turned up was malaria and typhoid fever, including those with high sugar challenges — diabetes. The foundation also launched hand washing facility at St. Gregory Catholic Church, Iyiowa Odekpe. In speech shortly after the cutting of the tape to unveil the hand washing facility, Mr Nonso Nwaebili said that it had been his desire to give back to the society that brought him up.

He commended Anambra Government for giving him the opportunity to impact positively on human lives, which he described as part of his calling. The SA, who is also a lawyer, explained that his foundation sponsored the projects in memory of his late Father, Mr Azubike Nwaebili, husband of former Speaker, Mrs Chinwe Clara Nwaebili.
Member representing Anambra East and West, Mr Chinedu Obidigwe, who represented wife of Governor, Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano in an address, commended the foundation for impressive gesture.

Mrs Obiano implored all to be sacrificial in giving to people.The Transition Committee Chairman Ogbaru LGA Mr Arinzechukwu Awogu eulogised the foundation for love to community and society at large.The emergence of the foundation to help could not have come at a better time than now that humanity sits on the edge of precipice over COVID-19.I also applauded the Foundation for `physical; philanthropy started by wife of the governor, Mrs Obiano from her Caring Family Enhancement (CAFÉ) initiative, through which many forgotten people have been assisted,” Awogu said.Mrs Bridget Nwokike, a Farmer and one of the beneficiaries of the donor free medical outreach, thanked him for care and love for the sick.Mrs Nwokike, urged other well-to-do persons to emulate the good gesture by assisting Government in his fight to curtail spread of COVID-19 in the state.
