Public Procurement Bureau wants only certified contractor-reps at procurement meetings

Anambra State Bureau of Public Procurement says it is mandatory that persons representing various contractors at public procurement meetings will be persons duly certified by the contractors. In a memo sent to Ministries by the Bureau, the contractors were told that their representatives must be accredited and persons with ‘Technical Competence and powers to take far reaching commercial decisions for and on behalf of their company’.

According to the memo, the Bureau will no more receive verbal excuses of rights to represent contractors at meetings, but rather only written permissions will be accepted.
Part of the accreditation is that the person must present to the Bureau a signed letter from the contractor, mandating such a person to deal with the Bureau on their behalf.’’
Any contractor that fails to comply with the guideline will not be allowed in our meetings.
