Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Indigenous Artworks, Culture and Tourism, Dr Christian Madubuko says that music is an avenue to showcase cultural heritage of the people.He said this when he received executive members of Performing Musicians Association of Nigerian (PMAN) on a courtesy call at his office at Awka.
Dr Madubuko said: “the Ministry is planning to organise a music festival comprising highlife and other genres of music to promote the industry and create revenue’’.Chairman, Anambra State chapter of PMAN, Mr David Uzochukwu felicitated with the commissioner on his re-assignment to pilot affairs of the ministry.The association is planning to organise a music concert that will feature legendary musicians in the state.The music concert will have awards night, where those legendary musicians will be honoured.There will be competition for best keyboardist, drummers to aid discovery of talents,’’ he said.Mr Uzochukwu, then, appealed to the state government to help cushion the effects of COVID-19 in their business.
