Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr Vincent Okpala has commended the outgoing Deputy Director of Accounts, Ministry of Health, Mr Lawrence Ozor, saying “he was dedicated and meticulous in handling finance’’.Dr Okpala made this commendation during a farewell party organised in honour of the retired deputy director in his office at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex, Awka.
The commissioner noted that Mr Ozor, while in active service was never found wanting in the discharge of his duties.We decided to join, celebrate with you in thanking God as you’re exiting from active service to enter into another type of active service.So, this is a gathering of brethren; we thank God for what you have accomplished and also pray to God to bless you with a long life and good health.As you’re discovering another chapter, does not become a stranger, because we are still part of your family,’’ Dr Okpala said.
Director, Medical Services, Dr Ugochukwu Chukwulobelu in his goodwill message thanked God for granting the outgoing deputy director a successful year in service.
We have gathered to celebrate you, because it is not easy for one to be alive and to serve 35 years in service.I know you from the board down to the Ministry and you always have a sense of humour and also a kind person,’’ Dr Chukwulobelu said.
Mr Anthony Obi, Head of Administration said that he had worked with different accountants while noting that Mr Ozor was exceptional and distinctive while in service.Mr Obi prayed to God to bless him with good health and a long life.Head of Planning Research and Statistics, Mrs Edith Nwachukwu, in her goodwill message, wished him well and reminded him that his retirement was not an end but a new chapter in his life.
Management and staff members of the ministry turned out in their numbers to witness his farewell.In response, Mr Ozo expressed joy at the surprise party organised in his honour, saying that he would forever remain grateful for the kind of love shown to him.
