Anambra State Internal Revenue Service (AIRS) has commenced payment of Tax Compliance Relief Package to cushion the effects of COVID-19 pandemic on citizens of the state.A statement signed by the Chairman/Chief Executive of AIRS, Dr David Nzekwu, said the gesture was approved by Gov. Willie Obiano.
All traders and business owners in Anambra State are advised to log on to AIRS portal: https://airs.an.gov/covid19-stimulus/ using their ANSSID number or visit any AIRS office nearest to them.To claim 10 per cent of the amount they paid to the state as direct tax in 2019.’’The statement said that successful claims would be credited to the bank account of the taxpayer immediately it was approved.
The statement also said that AIRS had extended the date for the filing of annual tax returns for individual taxpayers to July 31.This follows the initial extension from May 31, just to further cushion the effects of the pandemic.’’
The statement added that AIRS had waved the interest and penalty on all demand notices issued to taxpayers.This waiver is with respect to all concluded tax audits and investigations, provided that all such outstanding payments are made on or before Aug. 30.’’
