Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has described the ongoing Anambra State International Airport as one that will turn out the best in the country.
“Anambra airport is mind-blowing. It will have the longest runway in the country. It is wider, bigger than every airport.
“It will attract more meaningful development to the state and country,’’ remarked Fani-Kayode, while briefing newsmen in Onitsha, during his visit to Gov. Willie Obiano, at the Governor’s Lodge, Onitsha.
“No money borrowed from anywhere, no Federal Government has built such a structure. Indeed, it will dwarf every other airport.
“Gov. Obiano is a blessing to the people of the state. He pays salaries to civil servants as an when due, irrespective of all these ongoing projects in the state,’’ Fani-Kayode observed.
The former minister also toured some other state projects in the state, where he commended the Government for the dedication in transforming the state.
Fani-Kayode, who observed that crime had significantly reduced in the state, recalled when the state was known for kidnapping and other criminalities.
“Today, Anambra is peaceful. It has a road network, streetlights everywhere. The Governor is also on good terms with the FG, which will also help to attract more development projects to the state.
“I advise Gov. Obiano to take a decisive stand on who will succeed him. He must be a person, who must build on the legacies that he has established.
“Gov. Obiano should ensure the right person succeeds him,’’ Fani-Kayode noted.
On the Igbo presidency, Mr Fani-Kayode pointed that it would be in line with equity for the South East to produce a president, so as to sustain stability and make them feel they belong to this country.
